Why does "tactile" cover such a wide range?
Honest answer: "tactile" is a spectrum, not a single feel, and it's the family where the label misleads people most. Two things vary enormously between tactile switches:
- Bump size. A Brown-class bump is small enough that some typists describe it as "a slightly gritty linear." A Holy Panda-class bump is a large, rounded wall you push through on every keystroke — same family name, radically different sensation.

The honest, unpopular answer: probably not, if anyone else can hear you. The click is the entire point of a clicky switch, it is engineered to be loud, and it carries — across open offices, through thin walls, and straight into your microphone on calls. If you love the sound, that's a legitimate preference; enjoy it in a private room.
